An AI-first health companion for people living with multiple sclerosis, built to turn daily tracking into lasting behavioural change. My zero-to-one product: no corporate infrastructure, no safety net.

The challenge
Living with MS means managing diet, exercise, symptoms and energy every single day, but most health apps force people into predefined structures that fit the app's data model, not the person's life. People abandon them within weeks, and the behavioural change that actually shapes outcomes never compounds.
The decision
Chose Open journaling over Predefined tracking templates
A chronic condition is different for every person. An app that dictates what to track gets abandoned; one that adapts to how each person already thinks gets used, and used is the only thing that changes behaviour.
How I approached it
- 01Started from the community, not the feature list: what people with MS actually track, what they show their neurologists, and where every existing app loses them.
- 02Made flexibility the architecture, not a feature: users journal whatever matters, however they want, and the AI does the structuring, charts generated from their own data, notes prepared for doctor visits, information shareable in whatever form a physician or caregiver needs.
- 03Engineered privacy in from the first line: this is personal health data, so data privacy and AI privacy are the foundation, the same discipline I apply to enterprise AI governance, pointed at something personal.
- 04Leading a team of 7 through the build, owning product vision, prioritisation and delivery with no enterprise machinery to lean on.
Impact
- ✦In build, with the product bet validated against the community it serves.
- ✦AI that structures free-form journaling into charts, trends and doctor-ready summaries.
- ✦Privacy-first architecture for the most sensitive data class there is.
- ✦Proof of the full loop: vision to team to product, outside any corporate context.
